My name is Sterre Overvest and I was born in Utrecht on the 22nd of August 1991. My childhood was without worries. I grew up in a loving family with lots of support from both of my parents and I was bubbly and happy child.

Things started to change when my parents divorced at the age of eleven years old. Not long after I heard the news that my mother was terminal ill from cancer and would not have long to live. 

 

I started to loose my self-worth and became very insecure. I could not find a way to deal with so many different emotions and slowly but steady a lot of different problems started to pile up. 

In 2009, at the age of seventeen, I had my first long term stay in the psychiatric ward in the hospital in Utrecht (the University Medical Center of Utrecht).  From there onwards many diagnoses, medication and treatments followed. 

I studied Social Work at the university of Utrecht but I was forced to quiet twice, due to severe bouts of depression. 

In 2017 I found Master Choy, a Taoist Master and started studying Rainbow Tai Chi. This has transformed and changed my life(style) for good.

 

My love for writing started when I moved to the UK back in 2018 as I promised my friends and family to keep them up to date about my life abroad. I started my own blog with little stories and poems.
